The Château Celebrant

“Your story, my words, one unforgettable ceremony”

Hello, I’m so glad you found me here. I’m Laura, an English-speaking wedding celebrant based in the Dordogne, creating elegant, heartfelt ceremonies across France, Mallorca and beyond, in some of the most beautiful châteaux, vineyards and luxury wedding venues.

I specialise in destination weddings, symbolic ceremonies, elopements and vow renewals for international couples getting married in France. Each ceremony is written from scratch with care, honesty and a lightness that puts everyone at ease. I bring the right balance of warmth, emotion and gentle humour — never overdone, never forced — creating a calm, beautifully paced ceremony that feels natural, meaningful and unmistakably yours.

From château weddings in the Dordogne and Bordeaux region to celebrations in Provence, the South of France and Mallorca, I work closely with you to tell your story in a way that feels elegant, personal and deeply authentic. Your guests won’t be checking their watches — they’ll be fully present, connected and part of something special.

If you’re dreaming of getting married in France and are looking for an English-speaking celebrant who will guide you with clarity, professionalism and heart, I would love to create something truly unforgettable for you both.

Legalities in France & Mallorca

  • Not exactly. Celebrant-led ceremonies in France and Mallorca are symbolic, not legally binding. For a legal marriage:

    • France: Civil marriage must be performed at a town hall (mairie) by a civil registrar. At least one of you must meet residency requirements (commonly living in the commune for 30–40 days or having another local connection).

    • Mallorca / Spain: Civil weddings also require local registration or residency (“empadronamiento”)

Many couples who live abroad complete the civil/legal marriage in their home country then have a celebrant-led ceremony in France or Mallorca. I guide couples through this process so your symbolic wedding is smooth, stress-free and unforgettable.

Celebrant-Led Ceremonies

  • A celebrant-led wedding is a personalised, symbolic ceremony with a traditional flow and designed around your story, values, and vision as a couple. Unlike a civil marriage, it allows you to include personal vows, readings, music, rituals, and even optional religious or spiritual elements, creating a truly meaningful celebration.

  •  Celebrant-led ceremonies are flexible, creative and very personalised. Whether you want something romantic, heartfelt, humorous, or a mix, I will craft a ceremony that reflects your relationship, your personalities, and your day’s style. Many couples choose this approach for destination weddings in France or Mallorca, or when they want a deeply emotional ceremony that the law alone cannot provide.

  • Yes! As an independent celebrant, I can incorporate blessings, prayers, hymns or other spiritual traditions into your ceremony. I keep it personal, meaningful, and tailored to you, whether you’re religious, spiritual, or simply want symbolic rituals. Your wedding, your way.

Planning Your Ceremony

  • The sooner the better — especially for destination weddings in France or Mallorca. The best celebrants get booked up quickly. That said, I sometimes have last-minute availability and have produced a beautiful, heartfelt ceremony with only three weeks’ notice.

  •  Yes! I provide rehearsal support. If you book me to come to a rehearsal the day before, it ensures everyone knows their role and positioning so you feel relaxed, confident, and ready to enjoy your moment on the big day.

Ceremony Style

  • Completely! I adapt to your style — romantic, elegant, heartfelt, playful or a mix. Your ceremony will feel authentic, natural and personal.

  • Most celebrant-led ceremonies last around 30 minutes. I tailor the timing to include everything that’s meaningful to you, from personal vows to readings and rituals.

  •  Absolutely! Readings, songs, live music and symbolic moments all enhance the ceremony. I’ll help you plan them so everything feels seamless and special.
